In a pot, mix contents of package with 7 cups water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer on medium low for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. Can also cook in crock pot on high heat for at least 7 hours. Serves 5. Also try: Adding cooked, chopped ham. Ingredients: green split peas, onion, m.s.g.-free chicken broth (salt, dextrose, corn flour, chicken fat (includes rosemary extract), dehydrated cane molasses (includes color), onions, garlic, spices, sugar, corn syrup solids, artificial colour including tartrazine, flavour (includes celery)), bay leaves.
